Free software, designed for free hosting.
A normal family installation is designed to fit within Cloudflare’s free plans. An included workers.dev address means you don’t have to buy a domain.
Cloudflare’s free plans have usage limits, including some shared across your account. Check the limits below. Optional domains and paid Cloudflare plans can cost extra.
Free hosting has limits.
Family Wishlist is designed to fit within Cloudflare’s free plans for normal family use. Those plans are not unlimited, and other projects in your account can use the same shared limits.

- Private sign-in: 50 users.The Zero Trust Free plan has a 50-user limit across your organisation, including people using other protected apps. Cloudflare’s Zero Trust plans.
- Running the app: 100,000 requests a day.Workers Free shares this daily limit across your account. Each request also has a 10 ms CPU-time limit; that measures processing work, not the time a page takes to load. Workers limits.
- Storing lists: database limits.D1 Free includes 5 million rows read and 100,000 rows written per day across your account. A database can hold up to 500 MB, with 5 GB total across the account. D1 usage limits and database size limits.
- Product lookups and automatic updates.Optional Browser Run lookups, Workers AI and Workers Builds have their own limits. Check these too if you enable them.
What happens if you reach a limit?
The app can become unavailable if you use up a daily request or database limit, until it resets. Storage and user limits need action; they do not reset each day. If only an optional product lookup hits its limit, you can still enter the wish yourself.
Check usage in your Cloudflare dashboard. If you choose a paid plan, check its subscription and usage charges first. The Family Wishlist software remains free.

- An organiser’s email.Choose the person who will invite family members by email.
- A computer for setup.The guide uses GitHub, the Cloudflare dashboard and commands you run in a terminal. It helps to be comfortable with technical setup.
Cloudflare currently asks for payment details when creating a Zero Trust Free organisation. Choose the Free plan and check the current terms in the installation guide.

Questions about self-hosting.
Is this a hosted subscription?
No. You run an independent copy of the app in your own Cloudflare account. There is no Family Wishlist subscription and no central Furls account for your family to join.
What does Cloudflare host?
Workers runs the app, D1 stores family data, and Access provides private sign-in. Browser Run and Workers AI can assist with product details. Workers Builds can deploy updates from GitHub. The free-plan limits above link to Cloudflare’s current documentation for each service.
What happens if I reach a free-plan limit?
The affected service may stop working until a daily limit resets or you resolve the issue. User and storage limits do not reset each day. If only an optional product lookup is unavailable, you can still enter the details yourself. Read the limits and what they mean, and check your account usage in Cloudflare.
Who looks after updates and backups?
The person who runs your installation does. The project includes a backup, restore and upgrade guide, and the public repository records new releases.
Can I change the app?
Yes. The MIT licence lets you use, modify and self-host the source, subject to its terms. Your fork can follow the upstream project or develop in your own direction.
How mature is the project?
