No advertising or website analytics scripts
This site does not include advertising, visitor analytics scripts, tracking pixels, fingerprinting or marketing cookies. Fonts, artwork and screenshots are served from this site. The page controls do not use browser storage.
Delivering and protecting the site
Cloudflare hosts the site and processes technical request information, including IP addresses, browser details and requested URLs, to deliver pages and protect its services. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in running a reliable, secure website. This site’s code does not create a separate visitor database or request log.
Cloudflare’s delivery and security records are kept according to the purposes and retention rules of those services. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy, or contact us for information about the records relevant to your request.
When you ask Furls for help
Our quote links open your own email app. This website does not submit an enquiry form or take payment. If you email us, we receive your email address, message, attachments and any other details you choose to send. We use these to answer your enquiry and, if you ask, arrange and deliver setup help.
We use legitimate interests to answer general correspondence, and steps requested by you before a contract, or performance of that contract, to handle quotes and agreed work. We keep necessary accounting records to meet legal obligations. We also have a legitimate interest in handling complaints and establishing or defending legal claims. We do not add enquiries to a mailing list.
You choose whether to contact us. We need a reply address and enough information about your request to respond or provide a quote. Please do not email passwords, access tokens, private wishlists or unnecessary information about family members. We agree any access needed for setup separately.
Who helps us process information
Cloudflare provides website delivery and security. Our business email and document providers process correspondence on our behalf. If you become a customer, invoicing and accounting providers, including FreeAgent, process the records needed for the work and payment. Professional advisers may receive information needed for their advice, and we may disclose records where required by law.
These providers receive information for the relevant service. This brochure does not send visitor information to advertising or newsletter services used by other Furls websites.
International processing
Our service providers may process information outside the UK. Where required, transfers use UK adequacy arrangements or contractual safeguards such as the UK Addendum to EU Standard Contractual Clauses. Cloudflare’s data processing terms explain its transfer framework. Contact us to request details or a copy of the safeguards relevant to your information. We do not promise UK-only hosting or processing.
How long we keep information
We keep enquiries while dealing with them and any follow-up, and normally delete closed enquiries that do not lead to work within 12 months. We may retain limited correspondence longer where needed for a complaint, legal issue or abuse investigation.
If you become a customer, we normally keep the contract, invoices and necessary accounting records for six years after the end of the financial year they relate to, and longer only where a legal obligation or ongoing dispute requires it. This does not mean keeping every attachment or setup credential for that period.
Your choices and rights
Depending on the circumstances, you can ask to access, correct, erase or restrict the use of personal information we hold. Where the portability right applies, you can ask for information you provided in a reusable electronic format. Email hello@furls.co.uk to exercise your rights. This website does not make solely automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects on you.
Your right to object
You can object to processing based on our legitimate interests for reasons relating to your particular situation. Email hello@furls.co.uk and tell us which processing you object to. We must stop that processing unless we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds that override your interests, rights and freedoms, or need the information for legal claims.
Privacy complaints
Contact us if you are unhappy with how we handle your information. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office.
Other websites and your own wishlist
Links to GitHub, Cloudflare, Furls and other websites open services with their own privacy practices. Linking does not load their tracking scripts here.
